The Peter Darrell Choreography Evening

The second Peter Darrell Choreography Evening with the Dance School of Scotland will take place on Friday 14th December 2018 at 5pm in the Sports Hall, Knightswood Secondary School, 60 Knightswood Road, Glasgow G13 2XD.

Funding for eight dance groups

This year, eight of the dance groups from the Go Dance 18 Community Festival at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow, have been lucky enough to be awarded funding from The Peter Darrell Trust to support their choreographic development.

The Peter Darrell Choreography Evening

The Choreography Evening, an annual event for students of the Dance School of Scotland, took place on Friday 15 December 2017. The main focus of the evening was choreography, with their education classes looking at choreographers of different styles.

Tales of Hoffmann in Tokyo

We are delighted to announce that the very successful production of Peter Darrell's Tales of Hoffmann, is being staged by Noriko Ohara, Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Japan, and opens on Friday 9th February 2018 at the Opera Palace, Tokyo.

The Nutcracker on Tour

Peter Darrell's The Nutcracker, one of the most-loved seasonal classics, is at present on tour.

Cottier Chamber Project

The Cottier Chamber Project in collaboration with the Peter Darrell Trust is celebrating the work and legacy of Peter Darrell on 11th & 12th June in Glasgow.

The Cottier Chamber Project’s Peter Darrell Weekend begins with a screening of independent filmmaker Elly Taylor’s award winning film about Peter created for BBC Scotland and called “Peter Darrell - Scotland’s Dance Pioneer”.

Highlights of the year

Early 2015 saw Scottish Ballet on tour with Peter Darrell’s The Nutcracker. Catching it towards the end of its run reminded me how joyful it was and such a family treat for Christmas. We look forward to seeing it again, hopefully in the not too distant future.

New production of Tales of Hoffmann

Peter Darrell's production, Tales of Hoffmann, will be performed in Tokyo later this year.

Cinema screening 2015

There will be a special screening at Grosvenor Cinema, Glasgow, on Saturday, June 20, 2015, introduced by Elly Taylor.

The Elly Taylor documentary 'Peter Darrell Scotland's Dance Pioneer' will be given a Network transmission on BBC FOUR on 7th March 2014 at 7.30pm as part of BBC FOUR'S Dance Season.

Peter Darrell's Nutcracker to be performed

Wonderful news - the Scottish Ballet have announced that they will present Peter Darrell's Nutcracker, which will tour during the winter 2014/15 season.
