It contains lots of news including a proposal for a bronze bust of Peter Darrell to be displayed at Sadler's Wells Theatre.
The Peter Darrell Choreography Evening
The second Peter Darrell Choreography Evening with the Dance School of Scotland will take place on Friday 14th December 2018 at 5pm in the Sports Hall, Knightswood Secondary School, 60 Knightswood Road, Glasgow G13 2XD.
The support given by the Peter Darrell Trust has enhanced the choreographic tuition and workshops by visiting teachers and companies. This year has also included the first residency by a company, the Richard Alston Dance Company.
Funding for eight dance groups
This year, eight of the dance groups from the Go Dance 18 Community Festival at the Theatre Royal, Glasgow, have been lucky enough to be awarded funding from The Peter Darrell Trust to support their choreographic development.
This donation marks of a new partnership withThe Peter Darrell Trust and Theatre Royal which helps groups develop their practice and create bold and inspiring work.
The Peter Darrell Choreography Evening
The Choreography Evening, an annual event for students of the Dance School of Scotland, took place on Friday 15 December 2017. The main focus of the evening was choreography, with their education classes looking at choreographers of different styles.
The funding by the Peter Darrell Trust will enable choreographic tuition and workshops by visiting teachers. The Dance School will add into the Dance Education a module on Peter Darrell and his works, teaching parts of some of his works giving the students the opportunity to create their own versions.
Tales of Hoffmann in Tokyo
We are delighted to announce that the very successful production of Peter Darrell's Tales of Hoffmann, is being staged by Noriko Ohara, Artistic Director of the National Ballet of Japan, and opens on Friday 9th February 2018 at the Opera Palace, Tokyo.
This production of Peter's work opened the New National Theatre Tokyo (NNTT) 2015/2016 Season on Friday 30th October 2015 to critical acclaim. Noriko Ohara has once again invited Kenny Burke to join her in the re-staging of Tales of Hoffmann.
