Our plan for the future is to work closely with Scottish Ballet and the Scottish Theatre Archive at Glasgow University to ensure that all materials relating to the Darrell years is well documented and catalogued and more importantly, available to the public. Scottish Ballet has recently announced that they intend to donate archival material to the University archive.
We will be developing our website so that people have better access to Peter’s work which in itself we hope will mean his heritage will be appreciated. As Clement Crisp said “His legacy was not just his ballets, but an attitude to ballet itself, a belief in ballet as an art of today”.
Finally, with the opening of the new Scottish Ballet Headquarters in autumn 2009, we are delighted that a studio will be named after Peter.
Watch this space for interviews with people who worked closely with Peter and updates on the archival work.
